Now Anyone Can Be A Writer

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

The world has changed enormously in the last twenty years. It has changed in many ways that have made the way we live our lives very different. It is hard now to imagine life without a mobile phone that can be used in almost any country on the planet but can you imagine life without the Internet?

We use the internet for so many things now and it is becoming essential just to manage the day to day details of your life. Online banking, online billing, online just about everything means we all need the internet more and more.

Companies and government departments are moving many of their processes and procedures online. Everyone is shopping onlineĀ  for more and more of their requirements and publishing newspapers is becoming a money-pit as everyone gets their news online instead of buying a newspaper. The world is being changed by the facilities the Internet makes available.

There are also creative opportunities made available via the internet that would have been impossible to imagine only 30 years ago. You can compete with the publishers of newspapers, books and magazines at a minimal start-up cost that could even be nothing if you want to do things really cheap.

You can be a writer and have your work published online available to be read by anyone in the world with an internet conection and a computer. No longer are you limited in what you can write or finding a publisher. You can write a blog or set up a website that is entirely devoted to what you want to say be that a novel, a short story or a factual article about almost anything you can think of.

They say that everyone has a book in them and some people have enjoyed writing a book for the pleasure it brings them, never expecting that they could possibly get it published. Now that has changed and not only can you set up a blog or a website to publish your work but you could also have it printed and mailed to anyone you want, automatically, if you wish.

I hope this article has wetted your appetite to know more about this whole process of writing in the internet age and later I will go into more detail about how to go about writing a blog and publishing your work online and off.
